At SJUMO, we prioritize sustainability by using recycled raw materials and fabrics whenever possible. Our fabrics are carefully sourced and produced, with your health and the well-being of our suppliers’ employees as our top priority. That’s why all SJUMO products are certified with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate. Additionally, our products are made with recycled materials, which is why you’ll also find the GRS certification. Moreover, the working conditions of our suppliers are closely monitored, screened, and annually evaluated by the BSCI committee. But what do these certifications mean? You can read more about them below:
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a testing and certification system for textiles, established in 1992. The independent standard focuses on limiting the use of harmful substances in textile products and considers the health of users and creators. The aim is to provide consumers with assurance about the absence of harmful substances in clothing and other products. The label states: Confidence in Textiles. All products with the label have been tested for harmful substances and comply with strict minimum values. All in all, Oeko-Tex is about ensuring that the product causes as little harm as possible: both to people and the environment.
All SJUMO products are Oeko-Tex certified under the following certificate number: SH025 139380 TESTEX.
GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD (GRS)
GRS certification ensures that products meet strict environmental standards, focusing on the use of recycled materials. It guarantees that the entire production chain is transparent and traceable and that environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices are adhered to. This includes safe working conditions, fair wages, and minimal impact on the environment. GRS certification helps consumers and businesses make conscious choices and contribute to sustainability and a circular economy.
BUSINESS SOCIAL COMPLIANCE INITIATIVE (BSCI)
The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is an international initiative that helps companies improve working conditions in their supply chain. Established in 2003 by Amfori, BSCI provides a code of conduct based on international standards, such as those of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The code focuses on essential aspects such as fair wages, reasonable working hours, safe working conditions, and the prohibition of child labor and forced labor. By participating in BSCI, companies can ensure ethical business practices, reduce risks in their supply chain, and strengthen their brand by complying with global social standards. This not only contributes to better working conditions worldwide but also to more sustainable business operations.
Why are these certifications important?
Certifications provide you, as a consumer, with assurance about the quality and safety of the products you purchase. They also support sustainable and fair production practices worldwide, which we believe directly contributes to a better night’s sleep.
